2023 World Organizing Day

Organizational Consulting Services to Celebrate World Organizing Day on May 20th

Member of the National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals Celebrates with Other Professionals from Around the World

May 20th is World Organizing Day and Organizational Consulting Services, a member of the National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals (NAPO), is celebrating the global initiative by offering a 10 % Discount on any One (1) Hour Virtual Organizing session during June and July.

World Organizing Day is a global initiative founded by the International Federation of Professional Organizing Associations (IFPOA) to celebrate the work of organizing and productivity professionals.

This designated day aims to increase public awareness of the benefits of getting organized. It highlights the work of organizing and productivity professionals who enrich the personal and professional lives of their clients.

It also recognizes the accomplishments of individuals and organizations in their efforts to become more organized and productive.

NAPO members improve the lives of their clients throughout the year by helping them create environments that support productivity, general health and well-being.

By becoming more organized you can reduce waste, save time and money and reduce your stress. A Professional Organizer will work with you to come up with the best solutions that work with the way your brain works. Everyone learns differently and everyone uses their home differently. There is no “one size fits all”.

Don’t be embarrassed because the organizing books or gadgets that you bought didn’t make your home more organized. A Professional Organizer will find the solution that works “for you”. And they will teach you organizing skills that you can use in the future.

Call or email for more information on how Organizational Consulting Services can help you become more organized.  Onsite or virtually.      (440) 666 – 9326   or   kefconsulting@gmail.com

An Organized Home - Basic Organizing Ideas

You have a vision for your home. You have a goal and a plan to get there. You started by purging all of the garbage and things that you don't want any longer.

Now it's time to Organize!

You ask yourself - what system should I be using? There are so many books and so many different ways of doing things. I'm confused. Which one is right???

The simple answer is - the one that works for you. The one that you are comfortable with. The one who's philosophy matches your own.

Each persons brain works differently. My clients hear me say that often. You have to find a system that works for you, for how your brain works and how you use your home. For a Professional Organizer that involves asking a lot of questions before starting a project.

Keep things simple. If you try to make things too complicated you probably won't keep up the area once you are done.

Think about the space. What do you want to use the space for. Don't be limited to what you "think" the space should be used for. For some clients with limited space we have to be creative.

Has the way you used your space worked for you? If you are constantly reaching up on a high shelf for an item that you use everyday - change it and put it on a lower shelf!

Keep things that you don't use often on a higher shelf.

Think about the contents of each cabinet. Would using bins or baskets keep things in place better?

What about using a lazy susan in a cabinet to make it easier to reach things?

Group like items together. It's much easier to know if you are out of canned green beans if all of the beans or vegetables are grouped together.

Another idea is to keep items that you use together - like coffee, creamer, sugar, coffee filters - in one spot. Or flour, sugar, baking powder and backing soda - all in one spot.

Be sure to look at the expiration dates as you are trying to organize (your kitchen, medicine cabinet, make-up....). Toss out any expired items.

Organization is personal. It has to work for you! Don't be stuck on "I organized it this way so I can never change it". If it doesn't work after trying it for a few weeks - tweak it!

Once your space is organized - set up a maintenance schedule. Maintenance takes a lot less time than the initial organizing.

Don't be afraid to start organizing - YOU CAN DO IT!

*** Feel free to reach out to schedule a Virtual Organizing session to help you get started on your way to a more organized life!

Organizing - While You Have Time On Your Hands

While a lot of businesses are closed - and you aren't working and have "spare" time on your hands - it's time to start on those Organizing projects that you have been putting off.

Whether it's clearing out your clothes closet, or pantry, basement or garage - we are here to offer you any advice or ideas. * Send us an email and we will gladly offer you any suggestions.

Start by having a bag (we suggest different colored bags for donate and trash) to put things into that you no longer, need, want or is broken. Since most donation places are still closed - make sure that you have a place to store the bag until they reopen.

It's always easiest if you take everything out of the closet (or wherever you are working), clean it out, sweep or wipe it down - before you start putting anything back in. Remember - things always look worse before you are finished.

Be realistic about your "things". If you haven't used it in a while - ask yourself why you are keeping it. It's time to make that hard decision on letting it go!

*****

Another idea on what to Organize:

Your information!  Do you have a list of all of your critical information? All in ONE PLACE? For easy access in case of emergency? A list of all of your financial accounts, insurance information, medical information, household information, family contacts....

There are numerous ways to accomplish this! Whether it's a written form (book or spreadsheets) or an online form - whatever works for you. The point is - everyone should have a list of EVERYTHING - all in ONE PLACE.

This does take some initial work - but after that all you need to do is update it when your information changes.

*****

There are a lot of things that you can Organize during this downtime! If you need help with getting started or working on a project - we can help VIRTUALLY!  Email us and ask us how it all works.

Happy Organizing!

Working from Home - Are You Up to the Challenge? Organizing Your Space and Your Home - Virtually

With everyone staying at home, either working from home or just "social distancing" themselves - there are a lot of things that you can do to become more successful.

If you now have to work from home - do you have a dedicated workspace? Do you have the tools that you need to be successful? Do you have a routine that can guarantee your success? Or are you cleaning your home and watching videos while you are supposed to be working?

Working at home should still be considered "work". You owe it to your employer to be as productive as if you were actually in your office - at work.

It's not as easy as most people think. There are many distractions out there that you need to consider. Especially in light of the fact that everyone else is at home also - including most kids. This adds to the noise level and can distract you from getting your work done.

Having added Virtual Organizing to our business years ago, I can help you set up your office and workspace to be more productive.

As a Life & Business Coach - I can help you get through this trying time and get you back on track and figure out how to make the transition from working outside of your home - to working from home - or even looking into your future plans. Maybe now is the time to take that leap into trying something new - something that you were too afraid to leap into when you had a job and didn't want to jeopardize it for your "dream".

Life is throwing a lot at us right now. It's how you handle it that will make a difference.

Since you're at home - why not work on those "projects" that you have been putting off all of these years! Get your home and yourself Organized!

*************************************************************

How organizing your space is accomplished Virtually:

*  Make an appointment with a Virtual Organizer - you will need email access and a phone
*  You must be motivated to do the physical work yourself
*  You must be committed to reaching your goal
*  Virtual Organizing sessions are only one (1) hour long - instead of the usual 4 hours
*  Shorter Virtual sessions are less expensive than In-Person Organizing sessions
*  We walk / talk through your space and come up with a plan
* You do the physical work yourself - with email/phone support by the Organizer
