2023 World Organizing Day

Organizational Consulting Services to Celebrate World Organizing Day on May 20th

Member of the National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals Celebrates with Other Professionals from Around the World

May 20th is World Organizing Day and Organizational Consulting Services, a member of the National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals (NAPO), is celebrating the global initiative by offering a 10 % Discount on any One (1) Hour Virtual Organizing session during June and July.

World Organizing Day is a global initiative founded by the International Federation of Professional Organizing Associations (IFPOA) to celebrate the work of organizing and productivity professionals.

This designated day aims to increase public awareness of the benefits of getting organized. It highlights the work of organizing and productivity professionals who enrich the personal and professional lives of their clients.

It also recognizes the accomplishments of individuals and organizations in their efforts to become more organized and productive.

NAPO members improve the lives of their clients throughout the year by helping them create environments that support productivity, general health and well-being.

By becoming more organized you can reduce waste, save time and money and reduce your stress. A Professional Organizer will work with you to come up with the best solutions that work with the way your brain works. Everyone learns differently and everyone uses their home differently. There is no “one size fits all”.

Don’t be embarrassed because the organizing books or gadgets that you bought didn’t make your home more organized. A Professional Organizer will find the solution that works “for you”. And they will teach you organizing skills that you can use in the future.

Call or email for more information on how Organizational Consulting Services can help you become more organized.  Onsite or virtually.      (440) 666 – 9326   or   kefconsulting@gmail.com

What Can You Use a Professional Organizer For? Lots of Things!

Professional Organizers can help you with more than just organizing your closets (though we love closets!).

Some of the things we can help with include:

Downsizing:

Decluttering & purging. Sorting what to move.

Help with packing. Help with staging a home for sale (an uncluttered home sells better).

Unpacking and setting up your new home.

We work with seniors and their families to make the transition from a home they have lived in for 40 years - to a smaller space (senior apartment or assisted living....) a stressless process.

Aging in Place:

We can help with decluttering and making your current home a safer environment for seniors. Making sure there is enough space for walkers and that things are at a lower level so that seniors don't have to reach for things (and possibly hurt themselves).

Estate Clear Outs:

Taking an inventory of the home

Sorting personal property & finding donation sites for unwanted items

Locating & Organizing vital documents and important papers

Arranging for home cleaning and housing repairs

Working with attorneys and family to distribute belongings

Combining Households:

When households combine it takes a lot of patience and decluttering in getting rid of duplicates and making the home look like it belongs to one family - instead of two. Coming up with solutions and processes that both families can live with is the first step.

Life Management:

Paper Management - how to process mail, bills, receipts, paying bills and more

Time Management - making time work for you - instead of the other way around

Work/Life Balance - finding solutions that keep your family happy and together - w/o stress

Organizing a College Student & their Dorm Room:

There isn't much space - so having an efficient Organizing system is crucial

Helping with Time Management & coming up with Life Organizing systems

Closets, Pantries, Garages, Attics and more...........

*** These are just some of the things that a Professional Organizer can help you with....

I just wanted to share a Podcast that I was on with 3 other Organizers who were from Idaho. It was a lot of fun!

The Podcast focuses on Organizers who live and work in rural areas.

James Lott - our host -  is an Organizer and media celebrity in LA.

All of us really love what we do - and it comes through in our Podcast.

Clutter – Disorganization – and working with a Professional Organizer

Are you tired of being fed up with your clutter and disorganization?

Do you want to be able to invite people over without having to do an emergency decluttering (also known as throwing everything into a box and hiding it somewhere else)?

Sit back and let a professional organizer show you a better way.

A Professional Organizer can:
·         Assess your situation
·         Analyze what didn’t work
·         Implement new, sustainable organizing solutions

Being organized reduces your stress, saves you time and money.

Assessing your situation can include just things as walking through your home or business and seeing what the spaces look like. Or it can involve looking at your filing system or computerized systems to see how you function.

Analyzing what didn’t work means going over the systems that you currently using and any systems that you have used in the past and figuring out why they are not working for you.  There are numerous ways to do things and there is no “right or wrong way”. There is “the way that works for you”.

Implementing new, sustainable organizing solutions for you. Each person learns differently. Some people are very visual and need things to be out and displayed or they can’t find things. Some people can only handle things that have very few steps – or they won’t do them. Professional Organizers can create new systems that help you become more organized and more productive. Many systems are too complex and tend to overwhelm a client. Everyone learns differently and requires different solutions to be successful. If a system is too complex – even though it’s a great system – most people won’t follow it for long.  Organizing systems and processes need to work for you. And sometimes it’s a process of trying a system for a while and then tweaking it over time to make it function better.
Most people use professionals – whether it’s a doctor, mechanic, electrician or lawn service – because they don’t have the expertise – or they don’t have the time or energy to do the job themselves.  Or they have tried, sometimes with the help of family or friends to get themselves organized – but it just didn’t work.

A Professional Organizer and Productivity Consultant can help you in many ways. If they belong to NAPO (National Organization of Professional Organizers) they are bound by a code of ethics and understand that letting a professional organizer into your home or business is somewhat invasive and a very personal experience.  They are trained to be empathetic and understanding and never judgmental.  A number of organizers also belong to the Institute for Challenging Disorganization (ICD) and work with clients that have chronic disorganization and/or hoarding disorder and also have a variety of other issues such as ADHD, Asperger's, Bipolar, OCD and more. They are also trained to work with seniors and the aging population, people in life transitions, time management and productivity; students and more.

JANUARY 2017 - GO MONTH: GET ORGANIZED MONTH

January is GO Month! This month-long campaign by the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) promotes the benefits of working with an organizing or productivity professional and highlights the educational opportunities for individuals looking to build a career in the profession. NAPO professional organizers and productivity specialists across the country host events in their communities to empower individuals, families and businesses to regain control over their surroundings, time and possessions.

GO Month 2017 will promote the benefits of working with a NAPO organizing or productivity professional who is committed to professional development. The 2017 campaign will also highlight the opportunities NAPO offers for those new to the profession and for those seasoned professionals seeking advanced educational opportunities.

GO Month History
In 2003, NAPO established the “Get Organized Week” Community Service Project Program, where NAPO members held events to help promote organizing in their communities. The success of the program led NAPO to officially proclaim January as Get Organized (GO) Month in 2005, and develop a public awareness campaign to focus national attention on how getting organized empowers people to regain control over their time, possessions, inboxes, and surroundings.

NAPO professional organizers and productivity specialists across the country once again will host community events to help individuals, families, businesses and organizations bring time management, organization, storage solutions and productivity into their lives, and start the year with systems and solutions to improve efficiency long-term.
